hAnglar Boy Sitting On The Moon

Hello Everybody,
I was real busy yesterday creating several cards. There must have been something different in my coffee...hehehe.

I received this stamped image a long time ago from my dear friend Christina and I had colored it some time last year. It is another baby card but this time there is no expected baby boy.

I loosely followed the challenge on 'Lovely hAnglar Only' challenge blog. For my base I used SU YoYo Yellow and the matting is PTI, except for the yellow, which is the same SU paper. I distressed the matting papers with the Tim Holtz distresser and I think this is actually the first time I did this. I colored the image with Prisma pencils and added some yellow stickles to the star he is holding. The moon for the left top corner is from the PTI 'Night, Night Moon' set, stamped with a bit of PTI Enchanted Evening and the little stars are created from a MS punch. Don't you like those itty bitty clouds? They are punched out with one of those small punches, can't recall the maker. All the large stars for this card are punched out with a Fiskars punch. The little tag is from the hAnglar baby set and the ribbon is from my stash.

Well, not much more to say...... :). I added a baby rattle charm to one of the stars on the inside and a blue Prima flower to the other one.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a nice rest of the weekend.

Baby Oh Baby

I know, I know, it is unbelievable that I have finished another card.

In a few weeks my friends  son and her daughter-in-law will welcome a baby girl to the family. I can't believe that I finished it ahead of time. I still have to make tags for the presents and I will try to make a little box for the baby shoes I bought. Hopefully I will get that done soon.

The image is from my dear friend Christina C. She probably doesn't even remember that she had stamped it for me. I have had it for such a long time. Thank you so very much Christina, I always loved this sweet image of the sleeping baby.

The cardstock is from my stash and I colored the image with Prisma Pencils. The sheer ribbon is from May Arts and the pink rickrack is from 'My Minds Eye' the Lush Collection. The Prima roses were off white and I spritzed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist 'Cherry Blossom'. They look peachy in the picture but they did turn out pink. What do you think about the embossed borders and images? I just love them. It is from a brandnew PTI set called 'Night Night Moon' by Heather Nichols. I stamped them with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

On the inside I stamped another one of the borders and randomly stamped some of the single stamps and again embossing them. I computer generated the saying and cut the two layers with Nestabilities Labels #10. The pearls and the shoes are from my stash.

When I showed the card to my husband, he said he loved it but when he saw the inside he said, "Why didn't you write it in German?"....Daaaaaaahhhh, I guess I have become too americanized....lolololol

Thanks for dropping by and leaving such nice comments. I am off to hopefully work some more on one of my many unfinished cards.

Teacher's Apple

Two weeks ago I started and finished a card in just one day. Actually it took me exactly 3 hours. I don't know how you ladies can get all these cards made and be full time employed like I am. My unfinished cards are stacking up and I hope that one of these days I will get them done.

I made this card for Dominique's teacher. She is one of those teacher's that still inspires her student's. The graduation for her Kindergarten class was held in the classroom and all of us were able to attend the last day of school. At one point all the students were asked to either share some news or just a thought. When Dominique's term came she said, " I will miss you Mrs. Carsten, when I go to first grade". She is such a loving and caring child. Everybody went "Aaaaahhhh".

Now to the items I used to make this card. The base of the card is a large and long purchased card and the matting is Bazzill. The DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck "The Boyfriend". I stamped the image of the apple and the saying on white cardstock and cut it with a PTI Die called Mat Stack 1. I colored the apple with Prisma Pencils. I believe the word Teacher's was stamped with PTI ink Aqua Mist. The punches I used are from Fiskars and MS. I wrapped twine around the DP and attached a PTI button in Pure Poppy. The matting for the inside is also Bazzill and I stamped apples on Inchies and again colored them with Prisma Pencils and inked the edges with Ranger Distress Ink. I also distressed all the papers with the distress ink, which took a lot of time. The label on the inside was also cut with the PTI Mat Stack 1.

I hope you all like my little creation. Thank you for still dropping by once in a while, it is very much appreciated

Graduation

It has been a very long time since I last posted. I think it is close to 6 months. As usual I have been buying stamps, paper, tools and embellishments and I also have been receiving wonderful gifts from my friends. I hope everybody knows that I appreciate it so much, even though I haven't created anything. I am a horder, like so many of us. I never stop creating in my head but actually sitting down and putting my ideas on paper is another story.

My oldest granddaughter, Dominique, is graduating from Kindergarten next month and I made her and her two best friends each a card for graduation. I think because I chose the school colors they turned out quite masculine. Maybe I will make another card with girly papers and flowers and bows for my sweet girl.
For the base of the card I chose PTI's Enchanted Evening and the images are also from a new PTI set called FOR THE GRADUATE. I stamped the image, using Enchanted Evening PTI ink onto yellow cardstock from my stash and cut it out with a PTI die called Mat Stack 1. I mounted it with pop ups onto a scalloped oval, which was cut with Nestabilities from Spellbinders. The star was cut with a Fiskars punch and I added some dots with yellow stickles. Woohoo... a little sparkle. I also stamped the cap a second time, added some extra blue with a Copic marker, B29, and popped it on top of the label. I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the bottom of blue mat and added some yellow ribbon from my stash.

On the inside of the card I used the negative images that were created when I punched out the stars to use for the front of the card. I thought it would work as a quick and simple layout. For the inside bottom I stamped the saying on the yellow cardstock on top of a blue mat and off set it with the yellow squares. Like I mentioned before this layout is quite masculine and I didn't think girley swirls and "stuff" would work.

This is my second attempt to writing the post and placing the pictures. I hope it works this time. The first time both pictures showed up on the top. I have no real clue why or how I ended up with the picture of the inside of the card on the bottom of the post, which is actually closer to where I had intended it to be.

I really appreciate it, if you would come by and visit me again.

Bramble Wreath Card

I have made quite a few different Christmas cards but haven't had the time to post. Today I like to show you a card that is very simple but I think, oh so elegant. But it took forever to decide what papers to use and after many tries it was only one DP. It is from last years Martha Stewart christmas papers. The Bramble Wreath is from Memory Box stamped with PTI Dark Chocolate on PTI cream cardstock and layered on brown PTI CS and adhered with pop dots. The beautiful lace is from Websters Pages and the ribbon is from my stash. The rhinestones are from Kaiser Crafts and stash. I forgot to take pictures of the inside but I did pretty much the same layering as on the outside and stamped the sentiment in the middle of the wreath.

I couldn't decide which picture of the front of the card was better. The lighter picture shows the sparkle of the rhinestones better. I think the close-up of the wreath makes the rhinestones look weird, like I glued them with the backside up.
I made several of these and 2 of them went across 2 different oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic. I hope they get to their destinations soon.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all your sweet comments.
