Graduation

It has been a very long time since I last posted. I think it is close to 6 months. As usual I have been buying stamps, paper, tools and embellishments and I also have been receiving wonderful gifts from my friends. I hope everybody knows that I appreciate it so much, even though I haven't created anything. I am a horder, like so many of us. I never stop creating in my head but actually sitting down and putting my ideas on paper is another story.

My oldest granddaughter, Dominique, is graduating from Kindergarten next month and I made her and her two best friends each a card for graduation. I think because I chose the school colors they turned out quite masculine. Maybe I will make another card with girly papers and flowers and bows for my sweet girl.
For the base of the card I chose PTI's Enchanted Evening and the images are also from a new PTI set called FOR THE GRADUATE. I stamped the image, using Enchanted Evening PTI ink onto yellow cardstock from my stash and cut it out with a PTI die called Mat Stack 1. I mounted it with pop ups onto a scalloped oval, which was cut with Nestabilities from Spellbinders. The star was cut with a Fiskars punch and I added some dots with yellow stickles. Woohoo... a little sparkle. I also stamped the cap a second time, added some extra blue with a Copic marker, B29, and popped it on top of the label. I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the bottom of blue mat and added some yellow ribbon from my stash.

On the inside of the card I used the negative images that were created when I punched out the stars to use for the front of the card. I thought it would work as a quick and simple layout. For the inside bottom I stamped the saying on the yellow cardstock on top of a blue mat and off set it with the yellow squares. Like I mentioned before this layout is quite masculine and I didn't think girley swirls and "stuff" would work.

This is my second attempt to writing the post and placing the pictures. I hope it works this time. The first time both pictures showed up on the top. I have no real clue why or how I ended up with the picture of the inside of the card on the bottom of the post, which is actually closer to where I had intended it to be.

I really appreciate it, if you would come by and visit me again.

Thanks for dropping by
